Politicians Forum
The Politicians' Forum is a co-operative project developed jointly by EFCT (European Federation of Conference Towns) and IMEX and held under the auspices of JMIC (the Joint Meetings Industry Council). The Forum is intended to generate awareness of and participation in the meetings industry by local and national politicians and government officials with interests in the meetings industry, while at the same time helping educate them as to the wide range of economic and community benefits it generates. Case studies illustrating successful co-operation between local politicians and the meetings community are presented each year at the Forum, thus allowing both participating politicians and industry leaders to share experience and information of mutual benefit.
Politicians' Forum Objectives:
- To improve politicians' understanding of the value of meetings at a local constituency level.
- To demonstrate how clients see the role of politicians in terms of understanding their needs and providing financial support.
- To demonstrate how politicians can gain maximum benefit from meetings held in their city, region and country.
