Politicians Forum
The Politicians’ Forum is an initiative aimed at generating awareness and participation in the meetings industry by local and national politicians and government officials with interests in the meetings industry, while at the same time highlighting the social and economic impacts the industry has on a city or country.
Each year, some 100 senior executives including 30 politicians representing local and regional government in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia Pacific come together during IMEX, the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events, held in Frankfurt, Germany. Case studies illustrating successful co-operation between local politicians and the meetings community are presented.
The Forum allows politicians and industry leaders to share their experiences and information as well as visit IMEX itself to see the Meetings Industry at work. It is an initiative of IMEX held under the auspices of JMIC with the support and participation of major industry associations including ECM (European Cities Marketing) and AIPC (the International Association of Convention Centres).
A proceeding is prepared as a summary of each Forum, thus providing an ongoing tool which can be used by both government and industry representatives to pursue ideas and issues identified at the Forum.
